Objectives
General Objective
The mission of the program is to train masters and doctors for the insertion of graduates in undergraduate/graduate education, equally qualified to perform basic and applied research, notably in the infectious areas and parasitic diseases; Pathology, Clinic and Surgery; and Biotechnological products and processes, with qualification to work nationally and internationally in the Animal Health area.
Specific Objectives
- To train highly qualified professionals, with doctorate, to act as researchers in public or private institutions;
- To train highly qualified professionals, with doctorate, to act as professionals in large companies in theagrarian sciences area;
- To train qualified professionals, with Masters, to act as faculty in technical schools or even in higher education, in public or private institutions;
- To train qualified professionals, with Masters, to act as professionals in the agrarian sciences area, in large companies or public institutions;
- Develop researches aimed at the development of the Northeast region of Brazil;
- To develop researches that meet the society demands, with regard to public health;
- To develop researches that meet the society demands, regarding the agricultural activity;
- To develop researches that meet the society demands, with regard to the animals health and consequent improvement of their well-being;
- Develop researches that generate products with potential for use in the sphere of Animal science (rations, additives, vaccines, pharmaceuticals, laboratory protocols, etc.);
- To develop researches that use, with sustainability, the natural resources of the Northeast region of Brazil;
- To develop researches that give subsidies to the rulers in the municipal, state and federal public spheres, in decision-making regarding various subjects that directly or indirectly involve the animals;
- Work in cooperation with other national and international institutions for the development of Animal Science. This model enables the dissemination of results in national and international journals with a high impact factor, the result of dissertations, doctoral theses and scientific initiation papers, in addition to obtaining patents with national technology.
- Likewise, the program will increase and apply the knowledge acquired in laboratories and in the hospital routine to improve the quality of human and animal life.
